To Digby's point, I don't understand the Palin obsession either. Greg Sargent is sick of the media watching her every move as a potential 2012 candidate. Even though the party brass wants nothing to do with her as a candidate, the GOP's base loves her, because she allegedly pisses off liberals, which is pretty much your entire reason for existence when you happen to be a mouth-breathing teabagger.
That is not true for me. Palin does not piss me off. She is a complete fuck up moron that serves the sole purpose of providing the depressingly low entertainment value equivalent of that which you might find on a VH1 reality series. What pisses me off about Palin is that people actually admire her, look up to her, view her as a serious person, and wish she would run for public office. That is what pisses me off. That is what depresses the hell out of me - that someone this obviously and willfully ignorant (and her stupidity is not up for a left vs. right debate; she is a total moron) is revered as the second coming of the Republican Jebus by a good 50% of the American electorate. Total ignorance is now revered as a virtue by these people.
Oh, and the media treats her like a serious person too, so there's also that.
